"A world,unknown" is a book written by Abdullah Saqib, an engineering student in Islamabad,Pakistan.

The book is about the need for understanding the problems we face in our lives and the quest for unity. We all face problems but our approach towards problem solving is different and unique. Some concentrate on the short-term benefit while others tend to stress on the long-term. Many act alone but the consequences make them realise that the solution is unity. But how can unity be achieved when there are so many different groups,races,colors, and creeds? The answer is knitted within the book.

We all have our own world-view comprising of our thoughts,emotions,opinions,experiences, and perspectives and we normally wish to share our world with others. Our world becomes unknown when misconceptions, misinterpretations and related ills attack our world and seeks to eradicate it for without our world, we are lost souls with nothing to wait for but death.

Thus, this book combines all modes of english writing to motivate and inspire the reader to strengthen the world within through ideas and combine it with the worlds all around.

Conclusively, the mission of this book is to highlight the tussle going on which leads our world to become unknown and how to prevent this from happening. It ends with a manifesto, a call for action, urging to become leaders and agents of change for the betterment of humanity.

Had an argument like no other,

With the aim of exploring each other,

Turned out to be much more lesser!

Mankind has a nature of colors,

Differing with one another,

But uniting on one thing or the other.

It seems white or it seems black,

Thinking forever that we’re on the right track,

May it be this or just that,

Whatever it is,it seems far more than what sounds fact.

With every experience,man learns something to view,

To apply,explore and to extract the very dew,

What seemed white now seems darker,

And what seemed black just turned lighter,

Turned out that the color was gray,

Preventing mankind from going astray!

Amidst all this, someone seems lost,

Wondering what this all could’ve cost,

Lamenting on the melting frost,

But what is out of focus ,

Is grayer than just bogus.

We live with each other,

Care for our brothers,

Dare to protect our sisters,

But stand for something better than the other,

Our energies integrate or disintegrate,

Our activities unite or disunite,

Our spirits rise or just shatter!

Rise up to the sky and wonder,

‘Why are you Muslim?’ It may sound like an obvious question, but often many of us don’t have a clear answer to it. I remember being asked this question by my elder brother when I was fourteen years of age, my initial answer was ‘Well, our family is Muslim’, his reply to this made me think, he said, ‘If your family were Hindu or Christian, would you be as well?’. I replied with a strong ‘No, Islam is the truth’, the discussion that followed made me question the basis of my life and changed my life for ever. He triggered me to think about how to prove that Islam is the truth rather than just believing it emotionally or blindly. In fact Allah (swt) has condemned people for imitating their forefathers and adopting their belief without clear evidence.

In the Holy Qur’an, He (swt) says:

“And verily guess is no substitute for the truth.” [TMQ 53:28]

“They have no (certain) knowledge. They follow nothing but conjecture. For surely; they killed him not (‘Isa).” [TMQ 4:157]

"These are nothing but names which you have devised, you and your fathers, for which Allah has sent down no authority. They follow nothing but conjecture and what their Nafs desire. Even though there has already come to them the Guidance from their Rabb" [TMQ 53:23]

"Do you have Ilm (knowledge) for that which you claim so that you provide us with? You follow nothing but conjecture (Zann)." [TMQ 6:148]

The followers of other religions have no decisive proof for their belief, therefore they believe in their religions emotionally or through imitation. Some of them think that you just have to have faith without clear proof. However when it comes to normal things in life people apply a lot of thought such as buying a car, house, choosing a University course or which bank to join, so how can it be that when it comes to the most important questions about life; which define the purpose of our lives that we should just have ‘faith’ without being convinced absolutely.

It is therefore vital for a Muslim to believe in the existence of Allah (swt) without any doubt whatsoever and to believe in the Prophethood of Muhammad (saw) and that the Qur’an is the final revelation sent by Allah (swt) to humanity. Islam is unlike all the other religions as it has a decisive proof that convinces the mind.

Proof of the existence of God

Let us begin by discussing the proof of the existence of Allah (swt). Although we are taught theories regarding the origin of the Universe and origin of the Man such as the big bang theory and the theory of evolution, we should realise that they contradict the clear reality which everyone can sense.

The fundamental proof that God exists is that everything that we sense around us whether it is the mountains, the trees, the sun, the moon, the stars or animals and fellow human beings are limited things and are not eternal. By limited we mean that they have restrictions, a starting point and an ending point, and they have definable attributes i.e. they are all finite. Human beings are born and die. There is no-one alive who will not die. During their life span, they will grow to a certain height, weight and volume.

It is true that there are differences between the things that exist in the Universe however all of them share the quality of being limited and finite, the earth may be huge but it still has a certain shape, weight, volume by which it is limited, this applies to all planets, stars, solar systems and galaxies. Even though a galaxy may look huge to us as the earth looks huge to us and it is not eternal. Even if all of the galaxies and elements of the Universe are added together they do not become unlimited and therefore require an origin. No scientist could ever prove using hard facts that the universe has no bounds. In fact when they say that the universe arose from the Big Bang and is expanding they inherently admit it is finite in size, otherwise it could not .....

The Long March Episode : Democracy vs Dictatorship..

The weekend in Pakistan saw the much awaited long march take its turn to add itself onto the list of the on-going Political crisis plaguing the country.

President Zardari had pledged to reinstate the deposed Chief justice Mr Chaudhry, who had been removed by Musharraf in the November state of emergency, within 30 days of taking office, but reneged on the promise, fearing the justice would re-open the case of alleged corruption by his late wife Benazir Bhutto and him over which immunity was granted by Musharraf in a potential power sharing deal.

The election of the PPP in power in January and the ‘in-house’ move of Zardari to Presidency saw him back down on his promise during the elections of re-instating the deposed judges if the PPP won.

Whilst Musharraf was in power we saw parties rally around the message that dictatorship was bad for the country and that is should be removed to guarantee ‘real’ progress. The message was not just for Musharraf but anyone with similar ambitions for dictatorial rule which had caused havoc in the country through the pursuance of the war on terror with no consultation from the national assembly, rasing juniors in army ranks above seniors who were more loyal to Musharraf, sending the heads of the two opposition parties into exile and sacking judges who could contest President Musharraf’s authority as un-constitutional.

Today, Democracy, through free and fair elections has bought Zardari, a renowned crook into the highest office of the country, allowed the bombing and killings in swat which has seen 500,000 people misplaced and thousands of innocent men, women and children killed by American drones, lying to the public that American strikes are unstoppable as they take place from Afghanistan whereas new information proves that the Pakistani gave the green light to America to bomb the citizens of the country, banning media reporting against the government as was done with GEO and colluding with the army to crackdown on lawyers, activists and opposition parties calling for the re-instatement of the deposed chief justice.

What can the people of Pakistan expect next even after the Chief Justice has been sworn back into power? How can people rest their confidence in Democracy for Pakistan after the information minister, Sherry Rehman resigned in the wake of the growing clampdown by government on protests by lawyers and opposition groups which speaks volumes on how many in the government see no difference in the previous regime and the new one?
Both Democracy and Dictatorship have wreaked havoc for Pakistan.

Those parties that questioned Dictatorship and contested it under Musharraf’s rule, are they now willing to challenge democracy and ask for its removal after witnessing its fruits?

Islamic finance may be cure for crisis, Vatican suggests

As world markets suffer under the weight of the ongoing global financial crisis, the Vatican has put forward a new suggestion, arguing that the principles of Islamic finance may represent a possible cure for ailing markets.

The Vatican's official newspaper, L'Osservatore Romano, recently published an article titled "Islamic finance proposals and ideas for the West in crisis," prepared by Italian economists Loretta Napoleoni and Claudia Segre, in which it was suggested that the basic rules of Islamic finance could relieve suffering markets and particularly international financial systems. Noting that Islam prohibits "riba," Arabic for the usurious loaning of money, the article argued that "sukuk bonds," securities that comply with Islamic law, may be an alternative to interest. The article stressed that sukuk bonds are always real investments and never speculative.

The article said that in this atmosphere of crisis banks should take Muslims as an example and that the Islamic finance system may pave the way for the establishment of new rules in the Western world. The Vatican has suggested that the current capitalist system has failed. Pope Benedict XVI recently harshly criticized the capitalist system and the greediness of bank owners in the West. In the meantime, the Vatican itself has been badly affected by the crisis. It had recorded an 18 billion euro budget surplus in 2007, but this number had declined to 6 billion euros by the end of 2008 and is expected to fall further in 2009.

Below is an excerpt from a speech entitled “Technology, Business and our way of life: What’s Next?” given by Carly Fiorina in Minneapolis, Minnesota on September 26th, 2001 where she mentions the success of the caliphate as un-paralleled in world History.

“There was once a civilization that was the greatest in the world. It was able to create a continental super-state that stretched from ocean to ocean, and from northern climes to tropics and deserts. Within its dominion lived hundreds of millions of people, of different creeds and ethnic origins. One of its languages became the universal language of much of the world, the bridge between the peoples of a hundred lands. And this civilization was driven more than anything, by invention. Its architects designed buildings that defied gravity. The technology industry would not exist without the contributions of Arab mathematicians. Sufi poet-philosophers like Rumi challenged our notions of self and truth. Leaders like Suleiman contributed to our notions of tolerance and civic leadership.

And perhaps we can learn a lesson from his example: It was leadership based on meritocracy, not inheritance. It was leadership that harnessed the full capabilities of a very diverse population-that included Christianity, Islamic, and Jewish traditions. This kind of enlightened leadership - leadership that nurtured culture, sustainability, diversity and courage - led to 800 years of invention and prosperity.

In dark and serious times like this, we must affirm our commitment to building societies and institutions that aspire to this kind of greatness. More than ever, we must focus on the importance of leadership- bold acts of leadership and decidedly personal acts of leadership. Are you ready to die tomorrow??

We think in detail about certain things, typically things that interest us or which we are directly facing. So football fanatics spend time in following up the latest football news, whose playing who, whose been bought and by which team, etc. People into music would know about the latest chart hits, the top ten, what new bands are on the scene and spend time thinking about this. Movie buffs would ponder about the latest movies, upcoming releases, the latest awards and the like.

Despite expending effort in applying thought upon these trivial issues people in Western society often pay little attention to clearly a vital topic, that of death. It has even become a taboo subject to the extent that people try to change the discussion when it is mentioned.

It is completely irrational to avoid thinking about death as it is the most definite thing in life. To turn away from it is avoiding the inevitable, know one lives forever. All of us know of people who have died whether within our families, community, friends or colleagues. The reason for why many avoid the topic is fear. Fear of the unknown and fear of leaving this life. In fact Western society pushes people into all forms of escapism, so that they attempt to escape reality by drowning themselves in music, movies, sport, and popular culture.

All of us will face death one day, our hearts will stop, our brain activity will stop and our bodies will decompose. However as Muslims we know that death is not the end. Allah (swt) has informed us that there is life after death, that we will be accounted for every action we performed and will be either sent to Jannah (paradise) or Jahannam (Hellfire) according to our deeds.

For a Muslim reminding oneself of death strengthens our realisation of the afterlife and commitment to Islam.

The Messenger of Allah (saw) said, “The clever one is he who disciplined himself and worked for what is after death, and the feeble one is he who followed his desires, then made (vain) prayers to Allah”.

No matter how ‘hard’ or ‘cool’ people think they are, one day they will die and will stand in front of Allah (swt).

“Say: The Death from which you flee will truly overtake you: then will you be sent back to the Knower of all things secret and open: and He will tell you (the truth of) the things that you did!” [Al-Jumu’a:8].

It will be too late to change after you have died, you cannot go back and change things and live life in a better way. There is coming back for the Salah (prayers) you have missed or to make right the wrongs you committed.

“Until, when death comes to one of them, he says: “O my Lord! Send me back (to life), in order that I may do good in that which I have left behind!” - No! It is but a word that he speaks; and behind them is a Partition until the Day they are raised up. Then when the Trumpet is blown, there will be no more kinship among them that day, nor will they ask of one another! Then those whose scales (of good deeds) are heavy, they are the successful. And those whose scales (of good deeds) are light, they are those who lose their ownselves; in Hell will they abide” [Al-Mu’minun: 99-103],

Thinking about death should make us correct out lives, perform our obligations and stay away from haram (prohibitions). Whilst we are alive it is not too late to change. In fact one of the pious Muslims in the past Al-Rabee’ b. Khaytham had dug a grave in his house, so that if he found hardness within his heart, he would enter it and lay down for as long as Allah wished and read: “O my Lord! Send me back (to life) in order that I may work righteousness in the things I neglected” repeating it, then he would reply to himself saying: “Oh, Rabee’, here, you have been returned, so work.”

The Messenger of Allah (saw) said, “Increase the remembrance of that which destroys all desires” [Al Tirmidhi]

And he (saw) said, “If animals knew what the sons of Adam knew of death, you would not have found any fat on them to eat” [Al Baihaqi in “Al Sha’ab”].

Thinking about death should not have only a temporary affect on us, so that if someone who is close to us dies, we get ill or have a near death experience, we go to the mosque for a while and start following Islam. However some time passes the affect wears off and we are back to our old ways. On the contrary, death should be at the forefront of our minds and should affect us in a permanent way.

The Messenger of Allah (saw) said to Abdullah b.Umar (ra), “If you awoke in the morning, do not speak to yourself of the evening, and if you reach the evening, do not speak to yourself of the morning. Take from your life for your death, and from your health for your illness, as you, oh Abdullah, do not know what your name will be tomorrow” [Bukhari].

We shouldn’t think that by temporarily following Islam and repenting to Allah (swt) and then going back to being negligent in our duties and entering into sin, that our repentance will count.

“Of no effect is the repentance of those who continue to do evil deeds, until death faces one of them, and he says: “Now I repent” nor of those who die while they are disbelievers. For them have we prepared a painful torment” [An-Nisa: 18].

Pondering about death should make us prepare for it, so that we treat this life as a journey and a test not as a time to be obsessed with enjoying ourselves disregarding the limits that Allah (swt) has placed on us. Allah (swt) says:

“And the life of this world is only a deceiving enjoyment” [al-Hadid: 20]

Ibn ‘Umar (ra) said, “I came to the Prophet (saw), and I was the tenth of ten men, when a man from the Ansar asked: Who is the most clever and the most honourable of people, Oh Messenger of Allah? He (saw) replied: “Those who remember death the most and work the hardest to prepare for it; they are the clever ones. They have left with the honour of this world and the dignity of the Akhirah” [Ibn Majah]

‘Uthman bin ‘Affan (ra), in the last Khutba he gave in his life, said: “Allah (swt) gave you this world to request the Akhirah, and did not give it to you for you to rely upon, for this world ends and Akhirah is everlasting. So let not that which ends make you disregardful, nor keep you busy from that which lasts. Choose to seek that which lasts over that which ends, for this world will be cut off and our return is to Allah.” Death reminds us of Akhirah, and there is no better reminder.

There are specific actions that the Prophet (saw) encouraged us to undertake to remind ourselves about death.

Abi Tharr (ra) said The Messenger of Allah (saw) said: “Visit the graves, as it will be a reminder of the Akhirah, and wash the dead, as taking care of an empty body is an outstanding admonition, and pray over the Jana’iz (funerals), as it may sadden you, for the sad one is in the shade of Allah” [Ibn Abi Al Dunya and Al Haakim].

And Ibn Abi Mulaykah said, The Messenger of Allah (saw) said: “Visit your dead and pray for peace upon them, for there is an admonition for you in it” [Ibn Abi Al Dunya - Good chain of narrators].
And Al-Dhaahik said: A man once said: Oh, Messenger of Allah, who is the most Zaahid (abstinent) of people? He (saw) said: “He who does not forget the grave and abandoned the luxuries of life, seeking that which lasts above that which ends, not counting yesterday as one of his days, and counted himself amongst the people of the graves”. It is easy to leave the thought of death at the back of your mind and believe that you have a long life left. The angel of death leaves no one, whether young or old when their time has come.

In fact the remembrance is not crying and wailing and blaming one’s self when one is on the brink of death, or attending a funeral or visiting graves alone. Rather, remembrance of death is when a believer imagines that he will meet his Lord at any moment, and his actions will be cut off, as will his ability for repentance. So he will be aware of himself, careful to obey Allah (swt), wary of his Lord every second of his life.

"Say: ‘My life, my death and acts of worship are all for the Lord of the mankind (Rabil alamin)” [Al-An’am: 162]

As the death toll from Israel's war on Gaza continues to climb, Mohammed Ali, an advocacy
and media researcher for Oxfam who lives in Gaza City, will be keeping a diary of his feelings
and experiences.

Are we not human?

The air, the sea and the earth in Gaza City are now occupied by the Israeli military.

They occupy Gazans' minds, nerves and ears too.

In a bid to stop my children twitching, jerking, trembling and waking at every sound of an

attack during their few hours of sleep and their many waking hours, I put cotton wool in their

ears - it has not worked.

I wonder what damage is being done to my children's tiny hearts. Theirs are not as big as

mine, they can cope less with the stress that is being put on them.

We ran out of fuel for our generator, which meant that we were confined to a small room
filled with eleven people, with little light for three days.

We have not had water either; our well can only pump water if it has electricity which most
of the Gaza Strip has been denied since this nightmare started.

Unlike many other families, we were fortunate yesterday to find 20 litres of benzene to

power our generator. No fuel has come in since the onset of this attack on Gaza so we had

to pay seven times its usual price.

We have one day's worth of food left and the nappies I bought two weeks ago are nearly

gone. They are not good quality as little has been able to enter this strip of land since the

blockade was imposed on us 18 months ago. Bad quality nappies mean unpleasant leakages,

and for the last few days the little ones have had to be bathed in freezing cold water.

My sister who was with us the last time I wrote decided to return home in spite of our protests.

She feared that with food reserves running out we might have to eat one meal a day rather

than the two we have been having of late. At home she has a little food left, enough to keep

her and her family going for a while longer.

We are now 11, huddled together in my parents' dining room. My brother and I and our families

moved there, thinking that the first floor may be the safest option.

There is a saying in Arabic which says "death in a group is a mercy". I guess if we die together maybe, just maybe, we will feel less of the pain than in doing so alone.

I have had 8 hours sleep since the beginning of this conflict; we can hear attacks almost every minute.

I think to myself, if one of us is injured or needs medical attention what will happen? Ambulances

are finding it difficult to reach civilians, roads are blocked by rubble, Israeli forces in their path -

you could bleed to death.

Even if they did get to us, maybe we would be bombed on our way to the hospital. If we did

reach the hospital there might not be enough room to treat us - there is little medication or equipment or any electricity to fuel the life-saving equipment. We would not even be able to

get out of Gaza for the life-saving treatment we needed.

Hospitals are now running on back-up generators making life even more difficult for the doctors

who are trying to cope with the influx of the injured. If fuel runs out for the generators, those

on life-saving equipment will perish.

I heard a woman calling into a radio station today - ambulance services could not reach her

and I guess she thought the radio station might be able to do something. She was wailing

down the phone "our home is on fire, my children are dying, help me". I do not know what

happened to her and her children - I do not want to imagine.

I spend much of my time thinking that this could be the last hour of my existence.

As I try to fall asleep, I hear on the radio the numbers of people who have died rising by the

hour. I wonder if tomorrow morning, I will be part of that body count, part of the next breaking news.

I will be just another number to all those watching the death and destruction in Gaza or maybe

the fact that I work for Oxfam will mean that I will be a name and not just a number. I might

be talked about for a minute and moments later forgotten, like all those other people who have

had their lives taken away from them.

I am not afraid of dying - I know that one day we all must die. But not like this, not sitting idly

in my home with my children in my arms waiting for our lives to be taken away. I am disgusted

by this injustice.

What is the international community waiting for - to see even more dismembered people and

families erased before they act? Time is ticking by and the numbers of dead and injured are increasing. What are they waiting for?

What is happening is against humanity, are we not human?

There is no humanitarian crisis in Gaza?!

At least 30 people were killed in the Zeitoun district of Gaza after Israeli troops repeatedly shelled a house to which more than 100 Palestinians had been evacuated by the Israeli military, the UN said today.

The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), said in a report it was "one of the gravest incidents since the beginning of operations" against Hamas militants in Gaza by the Israeli military on 27 December.

OCHA said the incident took place on 4 January, a day after Israel began its ground offensive in Gaza. According to testimonies gathered by the UN, Israeli soldiers evacuated about 110 Palestinians to a single-storey house in Zeitoun, south-east Gaza. The evacuees were instructed to stay indoors for their safety but 24 hours later the Israeli army shelled the house. About half the Palestinians sheltering in the house were children, OCHA said. The report also complains that the Israeli Defence Force prevented medical teams from entering the area to evacuate the wounded.

The OCHA report does not accuse Israel of a deliberate act but calls for an investigation. Responding to the report, an Israeli military spokeswoman, Avital Leibovich, told AFP news agency: "From initial checking, we don't have knowledge of this incident. We started an inquiry but we still don't know about it."

Among the dead were nine members of the Samouni family; a picture of three of the family's children in blood-stained clothing laid on a morgue floor and in front of their grieving father wasshown in the Guardian on Tuesday. The father, Wael Samouni, said dozens of people had been sheltering in the house after Israeli troops ordered them and neighbours to stay inside.

"Those who survived, and were able, walked two kilometres to Salah Ed Din road before being transported to the hospital in civilian vehicles," the UN said.

Rescuers from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the Palestinian Red Crescent Society said they were able to reach the area on Wednesday only after being allowed safe passage by Israel.

The ICRC issued a statement on the incident yesterday, accusing the Israeli military of "unacceptable" delays in allowing medics safe access to injured Gazans.

More than 40 Palestinians were killed in another incident on Tuesday after missiles exploded outside a UN school that had been sheltering hundreds of people in the Jabaliya refugee camp, despite the UN saying the school was clearly marked with a UN flag and its position reported to Israeli military.

More than 750 Palestinians have died since the start of the Israeli military operation. More than half of Gaza's population are children, and the Palestinian ministry of health said about 42% of the casualties have been children.

Unicef said at least 100 children and minors were killed in the first 10 days of fighting. The Palestinian Centre for Human Rights, which posts staff at hospitals to track casualties, put this number at more than 160.

Abdel-Rahman Ghandour, the Jordan-based spokesman for Unicef in the Middle East and North Africa, said: "We are talking about urban war. The density of the population is so high, it's bound to hurt children … This is a unique conflict, where there is nowhere to go."

Israel has accused Hamas of using civilians as human shields and has said militants have fired rockets from rooftops of homes and mosques.

Mark Regev, an Israeli government spokesman, said: "Israel wants to see no harm to the children of Gaza. On the contrary, we would like to see their children and our children grow up without the fear of violence. Until now, Hamas has deliberately prevented that from becoming reality."

Fighting in Gaza has continued despite yesterday's UN security council resolution calling for an "immediate" and "durable" ceasefire and the full withdrawal of Israeli troops from Gaza. The resolution was passed with 14 out of 15 members in support of the resolution. The US abstained from the vote.

An online news report that was widely distributed on the Internet today quoted unidentified diplomatic sources as saying that Egyptian authorities have arrested a number of high-ranking army officers and put military police on high alert following signs of growing resentment within the army over the way President Hosni Mubarak has handled the current situation in Gaza. The arrested officers were accused of forming a secret cell linked to outside political powers opposing the Egyptian regime.

The sources said that the current political situation might change in the coming few days because the Egyptian administration feels it was deceived and manipulated by the U.S. and Israel to scapegoat the current military operation in Gaza.

The sources also said that security will be tightened around Cairo as of today and more police will be deployed around key areas and around the residences of the big figures of the Egyptian ruling party.

Timothy, Nestorian Christian and an eighth-century patriarch of the Assyrian Church stated:
Muhammad is "worthy of all praise" and "walked in the path of the prophets" because he taught the unity of God. He taught the way of good works; he opposed idolatry and polytheism he taught about God, his Word, and his Spirit he showed his zeal by fighting against idolatry with the sword; like Abraham he left his kinfolk rather than worship idols.

George Sale became the earliest Westerner to rise above bigotry toward Muhammad when he translated Quran into English from Arabic for the first time. That 1734 work, along with his clarifying notes, fulfilled his intention of giving "the original impartial justice." Sale, a Protestant lawyer, writes in his introduction:
"Muhammad gave his Arabs the best religion he could, as well as the best laws; preferable, at least, to those of the ancient pagan lawgivers."

For two centuries, Sale's work was the best single source in English for the study of Islam.

Later in the eighteenth century, distinguished historian Edward Gibbon gave a balanced treatment of Muhammad's character. Gibbon recognized that Muhammad was "endowed with a pious and contemplative disposition and that he despised the pomp of royalty." Gibbon thought that Europeans who stress the prophet's amorous activities have "maliciously exaggerated the frailties of Muhammad."

Thomas Carlyle, another outstanding English writer, became famous for his theory that "the history of the world is but the biography of great men." He discovered Muhammad to have been a sincere leader after approaching him in this positive manner: "I mean to say all the good of him I justly can." Carlyle rejected the characteristic European outlook of the preceding millennium, that Muhammad was "a scheming impostor." While laudatory toward the founder of Islam, Carlyle's appreciation did not carry over to the style of Quran as he read it in English. He confessed:
"It is as toilsome reading as I ever undertook a wearisome confused jumble."

Writing at the time of Carlyle in the nineteenth century, European historian Johann Doellinger asserted:
"No other mortal has ever, from the beginning of the world, exercised such an immeasurable influence upon the religious, moral, and political relations of mankind, as has the Arab Muhammad."

In the twentieth century, non-Muslim scholars have increasingly acknowledged the greatness of Muhammad. For five decades Anglican bishop Kenneth Cragg has been writing books to publicize the admirable qualities of Islam and has translated selections from Arabic religious literature. He states:

"As for lshmael, I have heard you; I will bless him ... and make him a great nation."

According to Muslim tradition, Muhammad is a descendant of Hagar's grandson Nebaioth (or Nabit).

Alfred Guillaume, the English translator of the most important Arabic biographical sources on the prophet, writes:
"Trustworthy tradition depicts a man of amazing ability in winning men's hearts by persuasion and in coercing and disarming his opponents. . . . He stands out as one of the great figures of history."

Historian Will Durant likewise concludes his treatment of Muhammad with this tribute:

If we judge greatness by influence, he was one of the giants of history. He undertook to raise the spiritual and moral level of a people harassed into barbarism by heat and foodless wastes, and he succeeded more completely than any other reformer seldom has any man so fully realized his dream.... When he began, Arabia was a desert flotsam of idolatrous tribes; when he died it was a nation.

Michael Hart, a contemporary American scientist, offers a similar estimate of Muhammad's impact. Hart ranks the three most influential persons in history in this order: Muhammad, Isaac Newton, and Jesus. Hart places Muhammad at the top of his list of one hundred humans because he was "the only man in history who was supremely successful on both the religious and secular levels." Within a century, his followers controlled the largest empire in human history.

US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice famously celebrated Israel's 2006 aggression against Lebanon as "the birth pangs of a new Middle East." She could say the same thing about Gaza today, but it will not be the birth of the Middle East she wanted.

Israel's savage attacks on Gaza come after months and weeks of repeated threats and secret planning. The shockwaves are rumbling all over the Arab world, as much because of the official Arab silence and international cowardice and complicity as because of Israel's barbarity.

Israel has never behaved otherwise. Right from the beginning, and even before Israel was founded, Zionist gangs led by future prime ministers were the first to introduce terrorism to the Middle East. Israel and its founders were the first to carry out political assassinations of United Nations officials and Palestinian leaders, as well as other truly terrorist attacks against hotels, railway stations and civilian Palestine government departments.

Israel brought nuclear weapons to the region and its chief innovations have been how to occupy, build settlements, usurp lands and rights by every means, commit massacres against civilians with advanced weapons, and invent new justifications for each crime. These have been its chief contributions to the region for 60 years.

Israel's butchery in Gaza is therefore nothing new, even if its brazenness and cruelty set shameful new records. The pain penetrates deep into every soul as ordinary people in Arab capitals voice their anger at Israel, at their own indifferent governments, and the duplicity of an "international community" that automatically supports the aggressor and blames the victim.

It is true that what is happening in Gaza happened before: the massacres there earlier this year, in Lebanon in 1982, 1996 and 2006, among many other examples. The reactions are similar too. When Israel attacked Lebanon in 2006, it also had a green light from international and regional powers. SHOES for BUSH- a farewell gift..!

BAGHDAD: A day after an Iraqi television journalist threw his shoes at President George W. Bush at a news conference here Sunday, his act of defiance toward the American commander in chief reverberated throughout Iraq and across the Arab world.

In Sadr City, the sprawling Baghdad suburb that has seen some of the most intense fighting between insurgents and U.S. soldiers since the 2003 invasion, thousands of people marched in his defense. In Syria, he was hailed as a hero. In Libya, he was given an award for courage.

Throughout much of the Arab world Monday, the shoe-throwing incident generated front-page headlines and continuing television news coverage. A thinly veiled glee could be discerned in much of the reporting, especially in the places where anti-American sentiment runs deepest.

Muntader al-Zaidi, 29, the correspondent for an independent Iraqi television station who threw his black dress shoes at Bush, remained in Iraqi custody Monday.

While he has not been formally charged, Iraqi officials said he faced up to seven years in prison for committing an act of aggression against a visiting head of state.

Hitting someone with a shoe is a deep insult in the Arab world, signifying that the person being struck is as low as the dirt underneath the sole of a shoe. Compounding the insult were Zaidi's words as he hurled his footwear: "This is a gift from the Iraqis; this is the farewell kiss, you dog!" While calling someone a dog is universally harsh, among Arabs, who traditionally consider dogs unclean, those words were an even stronger slight.

The incident has been a source of embarrassment for the government of Prime Minister Nuri Kamal al-Maliki, who, in a statement Monday, called the shoe throwing a "a shameful savage act" and demanded a public apology from Al Baghdadia, the independent satellite channel that employs Zaidi.

As of Monday night, no apology from the station was forthcoming. Instead, the network posted an image of Zaidi in the corner of the screen for much of the day. Telephone callers were invited to phone in their opinions, and the vast majority said they approved of his actions.

Opponents of the continued American presence in Iraq turned Zaidi's detention Monday into a rallying cry. Support for the detained journalist crossed religious, ethnic and class lines in Iraq - vaulting him to near folk-hero status.

"I swear by God that all Iraqis with their different nationalities are glad about this act," said Yaareb Yousif Matti, a 45-year-old teacher from Mosul, a northern city that has is contested by Arabs, Kurds and Turkmen.

In Samarra, one of the centers of the Sunni insurgency against American forces, Zaidi received nearly unanimous approval from people interviewed Monday.

"Although that action was not expressed in a civilized manner, it showed the Iraqis' feelings, which oppose American occupation," said Qutaiba Rajaa, a 58-year-old physician.

In Sadr City, thousands of marchers Monday called for an immediate U.S. withdrawal from Iraq. The demonstrators burned American flags and waved shoes in a show of support for Zaidi.

In Najaf, several hundred people gathered on a central square to protest Bush's visit Sunday to Iraq, and demonstrators threw their shoes at a passing U.S. military convoy.

But praise for Zaidi was not universal. His action ran counter to deeply held Iraqi traditions of hospitality toward guests, even if they are enemies. And those who have cooperated or welcomed the American presence in Iraq were far more apt to side with the government in their condemnation.

Kamal Wahbi, a 49-year-old engineer in the Kurdish city of Sulaimaniya, where pro-American sentiment is strong, said: "This is unsuitable action by an Iraqi journalist. His action served terrorism and radical national extremism. I think he could send the same message by asking Bush embarrassing questions."

Witnesses said that Zaidi had been severely beaten by security officers Sunday after being tackled at the news conference and dragged out. One of his brothers, Maythem al-Zaidi, said Monday that the family had not heard from Zaidi since his arrest, and that a police officer who picked up Zaidi's cellphone late Sunday had threatened the family.

Saif al-Deen, 25, an editor at the Baghdadia television network in Cairo, said Zaidi had been planning some sort of protest against Bush for nearly a year.

"I remember at the end of 2007, he told me, 'You will see how I will take revenge on the criminal Bush in my personal way about the crimes that he has committed against innocent Iraqi people,"' Deen said. He said he tried to talk his friend out of doing anything at the time, but that "he insisted he would do it."

Around the Arab world, the shoe throwing became the topic of the moment. In Syria, Zaidi's face was broadcast on the state television network, with Syrians calling in throughout the day to share their admiration for his gesture. Lawyers volunteered to represent him by the dozen.

In Lebanon, reactions varied by political affiliation, but curiosity about the episode was universal. An American visitor to a school in Beirut's southern suburb, where the Shiite militant group Hezbollah is popular, was besieged with questions from teachers and students alike, who wanted to know what Americans thought about the insult.

In Libya, Zaidi was given a bravery award Monday by a charity group chaired by a daughter of the Libyan leader, Muammar el-Qaddafi, Reuters reported.

The charity group, Wa Attassimou, also urged the Iraqi government to release Zaidi.

difference between muslims and non-muslims today..

the difference between muslims and non-muslims today is quite difficult to understand but let me illustrate this with an example...

theres a kid named Jack who lives with his parents who love him a lot... they give him gifts everyday..they try to make his life as comfortable as possible... gifts each day.. hugs and kisses and a good night sleep... Jack wakes up in the morning and always looks at his parents with love and wants to remain with him till possible... as there is a feelig of belongingness... his parents may act harsh many a times, angry at others but all in all it is evident that it is out of love for him...

now.. Ali is a poor kid.. he lives outside his house... his parents had been murdered in his childhood in front of his eyes and he still has night-mares about it... the murderers sent their friends to live in his house forever as owners and they act as step-'parents' and treat him as a servant.. they use his late parents' wealth and resources to live a comfortable life but the miseries remain with Ali and he feels hopeless.. at night, he always looks up at the sky with tears in his eyes and he feels that God is watching him... and he feels some belongingness to Him and he cant wait to go to Him so that He take cares of Him forever... in the morning he wakes up with pain all over just to hear and get abused by his parents' murderers' friends...

Jack represents Non-muslims today... their govt. may do whatever they like but in the end it is for their public ... and their service...

Ali represents Muslims today... their govt. is full of puppets who have no support from the public but full support from the enemies... their resources are utilised not to PROTECT but to destroy their public...

today, through a pakistani's eye... things are too bad...issues too manipulated and the 'trustful' not trusted...

In a family, the household looks to the father or mother as models or reliable individuals who can protect,help and renew hope within the family structure... they are in actual the backbone of a family...

but when we look at Pakistani Govt. , one starts to feel pain.. the poor and distressed public voted for CHANGE... and uprooted MUSHARRAF in order to get CHANGE... but what resultd was a hopeless group of individuals bought by Pakistan's enemies...

the govt. made promises...lots of them but soon bickered away saying that the promises werent Holy Scriptures that they had to be fulfilled... huh? lets see if they revert to these 'holy scriptures' before the next elections...

MUMBAI ATTACKS... blamed solely as 'Pakistan's fault' brought immense pressure on the govt. to retain their 'disrespect' amongst the public.. firing of words began from INDIA and Pak govt. started to feel the pain already so much so that they banned suspect groups without evidence and arrested while a glorious crackdown on Pakistanis on the preTEXT that if this wasn't done PAKISTAN WOULD BE DECLARED A TERRORIST STATE by the UN...

ahem ahem... INDIA's mukherjee says its too early for evidence revelations... click here...

but Pak govt. already got the evidence in terms of monetary profits... NEGROponte came.. kissed Zardari good-night and laughed with Singh at what a fool Zardilani is...

Troubled pop star Michael Jackson has converted to Islam and changed his name to Mikaeel.

Jackson, 50, was dressed in the Islamic garb as he pledged his allegiance to the Koran at a friend's house in Los Angeles. He sat on the floor as an Imam was called to officiate the ceremony.

Jackson, who was raised a Jehovah's Witness, decided to convert after discussing religion with a music producer and songwriter on his new album - both of them converts to Islam.

"They began talking to him about their beliefs and how they thought they had become better people after they converted. Michael soon began warming to the idea. An Imam was summoned, and Michael went through the shahada, which is the Muslim declaration of belief," a source was quoted as saying.

MALCOLM X - the prince of islam....

Malcolm X (born Malcolm Little; May 19, 1925 – February 21, 1965), also known as El-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz,[1] was an African American Muslim minister, public speaker, and human rights activist. To his admirers, he was a courageous advocate for the rights of African Americans, a man who indicted white America in the harshest terms for its crimes against black Americans.[2] His detractors accused him of preaching racism and violence.[3][4][5] He has been described as one of the most influential African Americans of the 20th century.[6][7]
Malcolm X was born in Omaha, Nebraska. By the time he was 13, his father had died and his mother had been committed to a mental hospital. After living in a series of foster homes, Malcolm X became involved in the criminal underworld in Boston and New York. In 1945, Malcolm X was sentenced to eight to ten years in prison.

While in prison, Malcolm X became a member of the Nation of Islam. After his parole in 1952, he became one of the Nation's leaders and chief spokesmen. For nearly a dozen years, he was the public face of the Nation of Islam. Tension between Malcolm X and Elijah Muhammad, head of the Nation of Islam, led to his departure from the organization in March 1964.
After leaving the Nation of Islam, Malcolm X made the pilgrimage, the Hajj, to Mecca and became a Sunni Muslim. He traveled extensively throughout Africa and the Middle East. He founded Muslim Mosque, Inc., a religious organization, and the secular, black nationalist Organization of Afro-American Unity. Once there, with the loss of Monir in the wartime chaos, they are captured by Northern Alliance fighters. They are then handed them over the American forces who transport them to the prison camps at the Guantanamo Bay base in Cuba. What follows is three years of relentless imprisonment, interrogations and torture to make them submit to blatantly wrong confessions to being terrorists. He was born to Nation of Islam parents, his mother Aquillah Beale (Puerto Rican) and his father Salek Beale (African American). When he was three years old his parents were murdered, in front of him and his two brothers, by family friends who were members of the Nation of Islam. [1]. His brother, Seike Beale, committed suicide.

On April 5, 1995, Tupac's LP, Me Against the World, was released (which sold over 3 million copies) Mutah guest appeared on the song "Outlaw." In 1995, Napoleon, Hussein, Kadafi, Kastro, E.D.I. and Makaveli (Tupac) formed the group the Outlaw Immortalz; later renamed to the Outlawz. Tupac gave each member of the group an alias taken from an enemy of America or so called tyrants and he gave Mutah the alias Napoleon after French emperor Napoleon Bonaparte. On February 13, 1996, Tupac's double LP All Eyez on Me was released selling 10 million copies in the U.S. Napoleon guest appeared on "Tradin' War Stories", "When We Ride", "Thug Passion", and "Run Tha Streetz."

On September 7, 1996, Tupac was shot four times in a drive-by-shooting in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was taken to University Medical Center where he died a week later. Napoleon and the rest of the Outlawz moved back to New Jersey. On November 5, Tupac's LP, The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory, was released. Napoleon guest appeared on the song "Life Of An Outlaw."

Napoleon's solo debut album, Have Mercy, was due out 2005. It features Jon B and other artist. He had a minor hit called Never Forget featuring Val Young and Johnny J. Johnny J produced the song as well. It has been completed but will not be released, and Napoleon has completely retired from gangsta rap due to its im-permissibility in the religion of Islam, as Napoleon has said so himself. He lived in Abu Dhabi for three or four months while requesting permanent residency in Saudi Arabia. He is now back in the United States.

Actually, 'jihad' means 'struggle' in a very general sense and is referred to as the 'ultimate struggle' when it involves fighting in active combat against enemies of the people and their rights.

The word most often used in Quran dealing with combat and battles for the sake of protecting and insuring all people are able to remain free and secure is - 'qital'.

The 'jihad' of warfare is only sanctioned for Muslims when conditions of negotiation and reason are no longer a consideration and oppression and aggression of the enemies has reached the level of chaos and terrorism.

"What about Muslim Fundamentalism?"

The Reality check: If a Muslim does not follow the 'fundamentals' of Islam - they are not Muslim anyway (duh)! 'Muslim' means 'one who does the fundamentals of Islam; surrender to God, obey His Commandments, submit in peace to God's Will on earth.

Since the beginning of mankind, man has wondered where he came from, why did he come and what will become of him in the future...

Another animated fascination of mankind has been the tick tock of time... The passing of dayz and nights...the series of events and the ever-so-new quests which leap towards man when he tries to move forward...sometimes these difficulties or tests take the form of hurricanes, cyclones or earthquakes in life not as natural disasters but as tests of maturity and checks of accuracy of direction and destination which man is heading towards... Many a times , man has given up and ended life ...but the mysteries of life are exposed only after life ends...

What nature has taught us is the importance of breath in keeping us alive... the gift of breath is the essence of living creatures in maintaining the attributes of life... the breaths we take are actually a measure of time....the vibrations of our lungs, the varying functions of our organs reverberating with every breath are but an alternative measure of time... God has gifted us with an in-built tracker which keeps track of time....and this tracker clearly tracks time to its end...

TIME is not infinite ..although it varies from person to person in duration and in importance but time may be termed as a 21st century terrorist...as it is ,in reality, a complex bomb which has a 100 percent probability of consuming its target...with no escape... this time-bomb can self-destruct any second and this concept of SURPRISE makes man think twice about the relationship between time and life....

When the time-bomb self-destructs, it gives rise to 2 important aspects of this world : life and death which collectively redefine the boundaries of this world... when time for an individual ends, he gives up his last breath to this world...and goes underground,..., hidden from this world and into the darkness and mist of fear overrules the once mighty humanity...but wat goes thru for this person inside the small constricted compartment of fear for a sinner is unimaginable and unexpressable for us ...

LIFE itself is accountable to DEATH.... and the complex relation that exists between these two entities have puzzled and misguided men for ages... and the concept of "life after death" has only added to this mystery of life... Through these concepts , different EQUATIONS OF LIFE EXIST...these equations of LIFE must be equated before Time equates us....

In addition to the above mentioned paradox, man has to equate life to his benefit...exploit the oppurtunities for the better.... to rule the world, man needs a system by which to abide...and obey a certain rules while making others obey them.... this gives rise to the concept of POWER and its distribution ... POWER has consumed mankind for ages...for centuries, he has quarreled amongst his brothers and sisters just for domination...

to account POWER, the concepts of RIGHTS and OBLIGATION exist.... man is accountable for his actions both in this life and the life after death....

To satisfy the laws of nature and different mindsets, EQUALITY must be given importance to...

are MEN equal to WOMEN..if not, how can they coexist??

how much RIGHTS do men and women possess and what OBLIGATIONS the have on each other?

What is the purpose of DEATH when we have LIFE??

what will happen after DEATH??

How did we come to this world ie how did MANKIND originate??

What is the system of RULING??

How should POWER be distributed??

Who has the RIGHT to rule??

How can we rule, peacefuly??and how can we benefit each other??

the above are just some examples of the questions that mankind always wonder....

‘Global financial system in complete meltdown as the free market collapses'

August 2008 was the first anniversary of the global credit crunch, during the year the world witnessed the global food crisis, soaring oil prices and the spectacular collapse of a number of banks and companies around the world. Debates about a severe recession reached fever pitch. Northern Rock in Britain, Bear Sterns in the US, the real estate bubbles in both the US and Europe all crashed in spectacular fashion. Financial crisis has become such a regular occurrence, many in the West consider the periodical market failure as part and parcel of Capitalism, and the Economist in its analysis of the crisis encapsulated this attitude: "excess and calamity are part of the package of Western finance. And still it is worth it."

The supposedly sophisticated models used by major investment banks predicted a financial market crash was likely once in 10,000 years. Alan Greenspan former Federal Reserve chairman attempted to calm the world by reminding them that ‘this is a once-in-a-half-century, probably once-in-a-century type of event.' They said the same, however, about the stock market crash of 1987, the collapse of the hedge fund Long Term Capital Management in 1998 and the sub-prime crisis. What is noticeable since the development of Capitalism is that the regular boom and bust, recession, depression, crash, crisis and collapse weather in Dutch Tulips or in dot.com companies, they occur regularly.

September 2008 has been even worse; historically September and October have been the months when Stock markets crash and the first two weeks of September have seen some of the worlds largest companies go Bust. On the 7th September Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac who together guarantee $5.3 trillion, more than half the outstanding mortgages in the US collapsed. The US government was forced to intervene putting over $200 billion of tax payer's money at stake. These two institutions collapsed because they excessively lent money to risky Americans during the boom period.

Then probably the most shocking news began to break that some of Wall streets largest investment banks were on the verge of collapse. Lehman Brothers, one of the largest and oldest US investment banks, filed for bankruptcy on the 15th September 2008. This was the end for a bank that started in Alabama in 1844 and came to an abrupt end - in its 2007 annual accounts it had sales of $57 billion and in March 2008 it was named by Business Week magazine in its 50 top performing companies for 2008. At the end it was worth less than £2billion.

Merrill Lynch, for years one of the titans of Wall Street, begged for a fire sale to a rival, Bank of America. And AIG, one of the world's largest insurance firms, is begging for a $40bn emergency loan from the US government to stave off its own destruction. In the words of the Wall Street Journal: "The American financial system was shaken to its core."

Derivatives at the heart of the Problem

Derivatives in their baffling modern forms - collateralised debt obligations, mortgage debt obligations, credit default swaps and so on - lie at the heart of the credit crunch. The philosophy that underpins the growth of derivatives is the idea that risk can be transferred to institutions more able to take the strain - in theory. The practice is very different, as Warren Buffett worked out years ago and described derivatives as financial weapons of mass destruction. All the institutions that have failed found they had brought into the Euphoria of this new way of making money by moving risk to others, in the end they were all holding toxic papers which quickly led to huge losses. This whole sage a year on is very revealing of Capitalism which promotes such type of finance.

The Bubble Economy - Is it worth it?

Many analysts and experts have cited an array of reasons to what caused the crisis, these tend to range from lax regulation, little transparency, the manner in which credit ratings agencies assessed risk as well as the complex securitization of sub-prime loans. Although such factors all contributed to the crisis, to only view such a crisis in this way avoids any discussion on any wider related issues and results in the study of the credit crunch crisis in isolation of previous crisis.

The current crisis like those of previous crisis in the last 200 years follows a familiar pattern, Like a bubble it continues to expand until it reaches bursting point, with all participants only realising the irrationality of contributing to the bubble once its burst. There are four stages of such bubbles:

The first is the development or innovation of new technology or product, in the past this included railways, telecoms, ships and dotcoms and currently innovations in the financial industry.

The second stage is where society is bombarded with information of how such a development will completely change lifestyles and the way we live. The South sea bubble of 1720 reached astronomical levels when the South sea company convinced the British public that their monopoly to trade with South America meant they would return with riches and booty, a wave of ‘speculating frenzy,' sent its shares spiraling upwards as ‘life would never be the same again.'

The third stage is where speculative frenzy turns into irrationality that drives a bubble to astronomical levels bordering on stupidity. People from all walks in life jump on the bandwagon. The public and sceptics are told, markets will not crash as this time is different, the ‘fundamentals' are solid and things can only get better with this new innovation and development. The development of complex financial securitisation products such as collateralised debt obligations and mortgage debt obligations where debt is sold many times over was heralded as a landmark innovation which spreads risk as never before. Again the financial industry continued to explain ‘this time is different, the fundamentals are solid.'

The final part of the bubble is when the realisation dawns that the new innovation or development in reality is not a landmark occurrence as originally thought, the money that was poured in initially which inflated the bubble will not bring the original returns which all were duped into believing, at this point the bubble bursts and the repercussions as history has shown have been disastrous. The excesses of the 1920's led to the great depression, the dot.com bubble burst when companies begun to go bust when their inflated promises would take 50 years to develop. The collapse of new financial Inc in the US in April 2007, the largest Sub-prime company was the beginning of the end of the US housing bubble; again we were told the US housing market had strong fundamentals.

Those responsible for the speculative bubble of 2007 could not conceive that one day it would burst. That was where their arrogance kicked in. Their activities were making massive profits, a good chunk of which were being paid out in seven-figure bonuses that kept property markets humming. Even when cracks started to appear, they blamed everyone but themselves.

This crisis has proven very clearly that the apparent strength of the financial markets was illusionary. The happy-go-lucky mood evaporated instantly, with the write-down of losses accompanied by the sackings of executives. It is a principal of Capitalism that there is never too much of anything: never too much growth, never too much speculation, never too high a salary, never too many flights, never too many cars, never too much trade and never too much Oil. What Capitalism has created is speculation, recklessness, greed, arrogance and over-indulgence. This is why every boom is followed by a bust and will continue to do so.

The Khilafah

The Islamic system has a completely different philosophy for the economy and as a result it follows a path completely different to Capitalism:

The Islamic economic system is about people and their needs, not economic growth. Muhammad (saw) said:"The son of Adam has no better right than that he would have a house wherein he may live and a piece of cloth whereby he may hide his nakedness and a piece of bread and some water" (Tirmidhi). This forms the basis of the Economic system of Islam, all policies and rules are geared towards achieving such ends. Islam focuses on the needs of the people which this hadith outlined rather then merely increasing GDP.

To achieve such ends the state has been ordained by Islam to play a direct role in the economy and not leave things completely to the free market. Ibn ‘Abbas Narrated as reported by Abu Dawud that Muhammad (saw) said:"Muslims are partners in three things: in water, pastures and fire." Based upon this hadith the state takes direct ownership of the fire based resources such as oil, gas, refineries, electricity plans as well as the water resources. In this way society will not be open to abuse by private companies who make a killing from such key essential utilities. The state will also control key institutions in society so it will be in a position to act well before it's too late.

The Islamic economy does not have a dual economy - a large financial sector where essentially bets takes place on what will happen in the real economy. The financial sector consists of financial instruments such as stocks and shares, derivatives and securitised products which apart from involving interest (Riba) involve transactions over items which do not require partners to have ownership of them.

The Islamic economy is based upon the real economy and as a result all its rules are based upon ensuring wealth circulation continually occurs. The prohibition of interest means investing wealth can only take place by placing ones wealth in the real economy as there is no other place to invest, if one keeps their money in a bank account (where there will be no interest) it will be liable for taxation at the end of the tax year. Taxation in Islam is wealth based rather then income, hence under Islam there would be no income tax, VAT, road tax etc. This means individuals will have much more disposable income which can practically only be invested in the real economy, this will create a multiplier effect as money will circulate from person to person. It is interest, the financial markets and direct taxation that hinder wealth circulation.

The Islamic system clearly laid down the rules for ownership and how to dispose of assets; these have been outlined in general principals which can be extended through analogy to new realities. This will bring the much needed stability to the economy absent in the West who continually change the goal posts with free markets and the free economy. After every crisis or crash the debate always centres on how much the government should be involved in the economy and how much should be left to the free market. Currently it is state intervention which is keeping the Capitalist economy afloat, through bailouts and the involvement of Sovereign wealth funds, banks have been saved from collapsing. It was these same banks who for decades have argued for deregulation.

Conclusion

The Global credit crunch has once again highlighted the fragility of Capitalism, as the fallout from the credit crunch and the wider economic crisis continues, demands for alternatives are certain to grow and it is here the Islamic economic model represents a compelling case for an alternative economic system. The Islamic system is more then the prohibition of interest and Islamic finance and unlike Capitalism places the needs of the people not economic growth as the central issue that require answers and policies.

After joining the university in August , Time has flown very fast...nd it has been difficult to grab hold of life rather than it grabbing hold of me...

Now, i am before you as i have a 7-day holiday due to Eid (Muslim festival)..

Today, on my first holiday, i have given a new look to EQblog... i hope u ppl like this new face,...this RE-LAUNCH....

EIGHT LIES OF A MOTHER

This story begins when I was a child: I was born poor.
Often we hadn't enough to eat.
Whenever we had some food, Mother often gave me her portion of rice.
While she was transferring her rice into my bowl, she would say
'Eat this rice, son! I'm not hungry.'
This was Mother's First Lie.

As I grew, Mother gave up her spare time to fish in a river near our house; she hoped that from the fish she caught, she could g i ve me a little bit more nutritious food for my growth. Once she had caught just two fish, she would make fish soup. While I was eating the soup, mother would sit beside me and eat the what was still left on the bone of the fish I had eaten, My heart was touched when I saw it. Once I gave the other fish to her on my chopstick but she immediately refused it and said, 'Eat this fish, son! I don't really like fish.'
This was Mother's Second Lie.

Then, in order to fund my education, Mother went to a Match Factory to bring home some used matchboxes, which she filled with fresh matchsticks. This helped her get some money to cover our needs. One wintry night I awoke to find Mother filling the matchboxes by candlelight. So I said, 'Mother, go to sleep; it's late: you can continue working tomorrow morning.'
Mother smiled and said 'Go to sleep, son! I'm not tired.'
This was Mother's Third Lie.

When I had to sit my Final Examination, Mother accompanied me. After dawn, Mother waited for me for hours in the heat of the sun. When the bell rang, I ran to meet her.. Mother embraced me and poured me a glass of tea that she had prepared in a thermos. The tea was not as strong as my Mother's love, Seeing Mother covered with perspiration, I at once gave her my glass and asked her to drink too.
Mother said 'Drink, son! I'm not thirsty!'.
This was Mother's Fourth Lie.

After Father's death, Mother had to play the role of a single parent. She held on to her former job; she had to fund our needs alone. Our family's life was more complicated. We suffered from starvation. Seeing our family's condition worsening, my kind Uncle who lived near my house came to help us solve our problems big and small. Our other neighbors saw that we were poverty stricken so they often advised my mother to marry again.
But Mother refused to remarry saying 'I don't need love.'
This was Mother's Fifth Lie.

After I had finished my studies and gotten a job, it was time for my old Mother to retire but she carried on going to the market every morning just to sell a few vegetables. I kept sending her money but she was steadfast and even sent the money back to me.
She said, 'I have enough money.'
That was Mother's Sixth Lie.

I continued my part-time studies for my Master's Degree. Funded by the American Corporation for which I worked, I succeeded in my studies. With a big jump in my salary, I decided to bring Mother to enjoy life in America but Mother didn't want to bother her son; she said to me 'I'm not used to high living.'
That was Mother's Seventh Lie.

In her dotage, Mother was attacked by cancer and had to be hospitalized. Now living far across the ocean, I went home to visit Mother who was bedridden after an operation. Mother tried to smile but I was heartbroken because she was so thin and feeble but Mother said, 'Don't cry, son! I'm not in pain.'
That was Mother's Eighth Lie.

Telling me this, her eighth lie, she died.
YES, MOTHER WAS AN ANGEL!

M - O - T - H - E - R

'M' is for the Million things she gave me,
'O' means Only that she's growing old,
'T' is for the Tears she shed to save me,
'H' is for her Heart of gold,
'E' is for her Eyes with love-light shining in them,
'R' means Right, and right she'll always be,

Put them all together, they spell 'MOTHER' a word that means the world to me.

For those of you who are lucky to be still blessed with your Mom's presence on Earth, this story is beautiful. For those who aren't so blessed, cherish and remember what sacrifices she did for you.

THE DEADLY PUNISHMENT...but have we learnt??

THE PEOPLE OF Pompeii

The Qur’an tells us in the following verses that there is no change in Allah’s laws:

They swore their strongest oaths by Allah that if a warner came to them, they would follow his guidance better than any (other) of the Peoples: But when a warner came to them, it has only increased their flight (from righteousness) - On account of their arrogance in the land and their plotting of Evil, but the plotting of Evil will hem in only the authors thereof. Now are they but looking for the way the ancients were dealt with? But no change wilt thou find in Allah's way (of dealing): no turning off wilt thou find in Allah's way (of dealing). (Surat al-Fatir: 42-43)

Yes, "no change will be found in Allah’s way (rules)". Everybody, who stands against His laws and rebels against Him, is subject to the same divine law. Pompeii, the symbol of the degeneration of the Roman Empire, was also involved in sexual perversity. Its end was similar to that of the people of Lut (as).

The destruction of Pompeii came by means of the eruption of the volcano Vesuvius.

The volcano Vesuvius is the symbol of Italy, primarily the city of Naples. Remaining silent for the last two millennia, Vesuvius is named the "Mountain of Warning". It is noteworthy that Vesuvius is known as such. The disaster that befell Sodom and Gomorrah is very similar to the disaster that destroyed Pompeii.

To the right of Vesuvius lies Naples and to the east lies Pompeii. The lava and ash of a huge volcanic eruption, that happened thousands of years ago, caught the inhabitants of that city. The disaster happened so suddenly that everything in the town was caught in the middle of its everyday life and remains today exactly as it was two millennia ago. It is as if the time had been frozen.

The removal of Pompeii from the face of the earth by such a disaster was not purposeless. The historical record shows that the city was exactly the centre of dissipation and perversity. The city was marked by a rise in prostitution to such an extent that even the number of brothels was not known.

But the lava of Vesuvius wiped the whole city off the map in a single moment. The most interesting aspect of the event is that nobody escaped despite the terrible violence of the eruption of Vesuvius. It is almost like they did not even notice the catastrophe, as if they were charmed. A family eating their meal were petrified right at that moment. Numerous petrified couples were found in the act of intercourse. The most interesting thing is that there were couples of the same sex and couples of young boys and girls. The faces of some of the petrified human corpses unearthed from Pompeii were unharmed. The general expression on those faces was bewilderment.

Here lies the most incomprehensible aspect of the calamity. How did thousands of people wait to be caught by death without seeing and hearing anything?

This aspect of the event shows that the disappearance of Pompeii was similar to the destructive events mentioned in the Qur’an, because the Qur’an particularly points to "sudden annihilation" while relating these events. For example, the "inhabitants of the city" described in Surah Ya-Sin died all at once in a single moment. The situation is told as follows:

It was no more than a single mighty Blast, and behold! they were (like ashes) quenched and silent. (Surah Ya-Sin: 29)

In Surat al-Qamar, again the "instantaneous annihilation" is emphasised when the destruction of Thamud is recounted:

For We sent against them a single Mighty Blast, and they became like the dry stubble used by one who pens cattle. (Surat al-Qamar: 31)

The death of the people of Pompeii took place instantaneously as just as the events recounted in the above verses.

Despite all of this, things have not changed much where Pompeii once stood. The districts of Naples where debauchery prevails do not fall short of those licentious districts of Pompeii. The Island of Capri is a base where homosexuals and nudists reside and is represented as a "Homosexual paradise" in tourist commercials. Not only on Capri and in Italy, but in nearly all the world, a similar moral degeneration is at work and people insist on not learning from the awful experiences of past peoples.

DAWAH: Enjoining GOOD and Forbidding EVIL

Asalam-u-alaikum once again, fellow readers and bloggers. MashAllah some beautiful pictures uploaded by my friend Abdullah. Seeing these pictures, one just thinks about the wonders that nature has hidden around the globe, and how much we’re missing by sitting idle at home. And ofcourse also makes us think about the greatness of Allah (swt) and so thinking about it this way, these picture act as a means of Dawah as well. Recently, while reading the glorious Quran, I came across an ayah which made me immediately revisit this blog, and enjoy each and every picture with renewed awe. It was one of those ayah’s that you know, immediately clicks a nerve and makes you think. It may not be new for most of you, but I would still like to share it with you guys.

“And those who have no knowledge say: ‘Why doesn’t Allah speak to us (face to face) or why doesn’t a sign come to us?’ So said the people before them, words of similar import. Their hearts are alike, We have indeed made plain the signs for people who believe with certainty.” (Surah Bakara: 119)

Anyways moving on, I felt like writing about the importance of Dawah today i.e guiding towards what is right and forbidding from what is wrong, because I myself recently became aware of its true value. Couple of days back, I had the chance to go out in tabligh in the path of Allah. I always used to know that giving Dawah was a very noble deed, but at the same I was under the impression that it was optional. Whether you do or not, its your choice. How wrong was I to be proven. So much so, that one lecturer said that the people of the ummats of the prophets before Muhammad (Saw) had only two responsibilities.

Learn Religion
Practice Religion.

As an Ummati of Prophet Muhammad (saw), we have three responsibilities.

Learn Religion.
Practice Religion.
Pass the message on to others.

Still dissatisfied I sought to look for answers in The Glorious Quran and ahadith of our beloved prophet (Saw). My findings sent shivers down my body. I found many ahadith and ayahs of Quran which signified the importance of Dawah. I will now Quote some of them, which really touched me.

It is reported by Ibn Masood (Ra) that the Holy Porphet (Saw) said: “The decline and fall of Bani Israel started thus: when the pious among them saw certain sins being committed by the transgressors, they forbade them from doing the same; but when the sinners did not repent, the pious because of their relationship and friendship continued to mix with them. So, when this state of affairs began to prevail, Allah caused their hearts to be accursed in the same manner.” After reciting a verse from the Quran to support this statement, the Holy Prophet (saw) empathically instructed his companions: “(To avoid such decline) you people must enjoin upon others to do good deeds and prevent them from doing forbidden things; you should restrain every tyrant from tyranny and invite him towards truth and justice”

Isn’t this exactly what happens with us nowadays? Well, I don’t know about you guys but I was surprised at how accurately this hadith describes my behaviour towards others. We look at people, our friends involved in wrong activities and we continue to hangout with them with complete disregard to what they are involved in. Sometimes occasionally we tell them the right thing once, twice or at the most thrice after which we stop and ignore what they’re doing but ‘continue to mix with them’. This is a life long struggle my friends. It is one of the re

ason Allah has sent us in this world which can be seen from the verse below:

“O Muslims! You are the BEST of peoples, who have been SELECTED for the guidance of mankind; you enjoin them to do good deeds, and prevent them from forbidden things; and you have firm faith in Allah” (Surah Aali imraan:10)

Read the above verse again and again until it affects your heart! We have been chosen, selected form billions and billions of people to do the work of Dawah. We should feel elevated, pride because of this gift of Allah (swt). This work was the work of the prophets, they used to guide humanity to do good and forbid them from evil. Allah (swt) loves us so much that he has given us the work that he used to give his prophets!. No other Ummah before the Ummah of Prophet Muhammad (saw) has ever been given this responsibility which Allah has bestowed upon us. And in the above verse, Allah calls us the BEST! use of our characteristic that we “enjoin on them to do good deeds and prevent them from forbidden things”. If we lose this characteristic, we lose our honour of being the best of the best!

It has been reported by Nauman bin Basheer (Ra) that the Holy prophet (saw) said: “There are people who do not transgress the limits (laws) of Allah, and there are others who do so. They are like two groups who boarded a ship; one of them settled on the upper deck, and the other on the lower deck of the ship. So when the people of the lower deck needed water, they said: ‘why should we cause trouble to the people of the upper deck when we can easily have plenty of water by making a hole in our deck’ Now if the people of the upper deck do not prevent this group from such foolishness, all of them will perish – but if the stop them they will all be saved”

What beautiful logic the Prophet (saw) has used here to explain to us the importance of dawah! The people of the lower deck have to go to the upper deck whenever they needed drinking water, so instead they thought ‘why not make a hole in the ship and obtain water from the sea’, which will inevitably sink the ship. Now it’s the responsibility of the upper deck people to stop the people of the lower deck from doing so, otherwise everyone will die. Similarly brothers, it’s our responsibility to stop people from committing sins and ‘direct’ them on to the right path. “Bringing’ them onto the right path is in the hands of Allah and he will give taufiq to whoever he wills. But if we forget our responsibility, if we forget our duty than the ship of righteousness, the ship of piety, the ship of humbleness, the ship of modesty, all of them will sink one by one and eventually sink the ship of Islam! And all of us will be held accountable on the day of judgement!

I sense your getting bored by now, so I will conclude my article with this hadith of the prophet (saw).

Hazrat Aishan (ra) says: “once the Holy Prophet (saw) entered the house and I guessed from his face something of great importance had happened to him. He did not talk to anyone, and after making wadhu he entered the mosque. I stood behind the wall to hear what he said. He sat at the pulpit and after praising Allah, he said; “O Muslims! Allah has commanded you to call people to Good deeds, and prevent them from committing sins; otherwise a time will come when you will pray to Him, but He will not listen; you will ask your needs of Him, but He will not grant them, you will demand His help against your enemies, but He will not help you.”

Ask yourself hasn’t this time already arrived? Look at our brothers in Afghanistan, Iraq, Palestine, Kashmir etc. The whole Muslim Ummah prays for them but still there is no change. ‘Why is Allah not answering our duas?’ I have heard many people ask. I hope this hadith answers that question for you. Fear Allah my friends, Fear Allah!

Allah (swt) has put eternal success of the world and the hereafter in the life of this deen, and He wants us to gain this eternal success. He wants us to live happily in jannah! And so he sent more than 120,000 Prophets and Messengers in this world to guide us on to the right path so that we can be successful! All of them came with the same message i.e “Read LA ILAHA ILALLAH, and you shall successful” At the end Allah sent Muhammad (saw) as the seal of the prophets and as a blessing for humanity. After Muhammad (saw) there will be no more prophets my friends, no more messengers, Allah has now bestowed that responsibility on our shoulders! May Allah give us the Taufiq to spread the life of this deen to all corners of this world and take it to each and every individual willing to listen!

Does GOD listen..??

A young man had been to Wednesday Night Class of Quran Studies. The Muslim had shared about listening to GOD and obeying GOD through intuition. The young man couldn't help but wonder, 'does GOD still speak to people through intuition?’ After Lessons, he went out with some friends for coffee and pie and they discussed the message. Several different ones talked about how GOD had led them in different ways and that at the end you'll know it was GOD (SWT) who has directed you. It was about ten o'clock when the young man started driving home. Sitting in his car, he just began to pray, 'GOD...If you still speak to people, speak to me. I will listen. I will do my best to obey.' As he drove down the main street of his town, he had the strangest thought to stop and buy a gallon of milk. He shook his head and said out loud, 'GOD is that you?' He didn't get a reply and started on toward home. But again, the thought, buy a gallon of milk came into his head.’ Okay, GOD, in case that is you, I will buy the milk.' It didn't seem like too hard a test of obedience. He could always use the milk. He stopped and purchased the gallon of milk and started off toward home. As he passed Seventh Street, he again felt the urge, 'Turn Down that street.’ This is crazy he thought, and drove on past the intersection. Again, he felt that he should turn down Seventh Street ...At the next intersection; he turned back and headed down Seventh. Half jokingly, he said out loud, 'Okay, GOD, I will.’ He drove several blocks, when suddenly, he felt like he should stop. He pulled over to the curb and looked around. He was in a semi-commercial area of town. It wasn't the best but it wasn't the worst of neighborhoods either. The businesses were closed and most of the houses looked dark like the people were already in bed. Again, he sensed something, 'Go and give the milk to the people in the house across the street.' The young man looked at the house. It was dark and it looked like the people were either gone or they were already asleep. Started to open the door and then sat back in the car seat.. 'GOD, this is insane. Those people are asleep and if I wake them up, they are going to be mad and I will look stupid.' Again, he felt like he should go and give the milk. Finally,he---
. opened the door, 'Okay GOD (SWT), if this is you, I will go to the door and I will give them the milk. If you want me to look like a crazy person, okay. I want to be obedient. I guess that will count for something, but if they don't answer right away, I am out of here.' He walked across the street and rang the bell. He could hear some noise inside. A man's voice yelled out, 'Who is it? What do you want?' Then the door opened before the young man could get away. The man was standing there in his jeans and T-shirt. He looked like he just got out of bed. He had a strange look on his face and he didn't seem too happy to have some stranger standing on his doorstep. 'What is it? ‘The young man thrust out the gallon of milk, 'Here, I brought this to you.’ The man took the milk and rushed down a hallway. Then from down the hall came a woman carrying the milk toward the kitchen. The man was following her holding a baby. The baby was crying. The man had tears streaming down his face. The man began speaking and half crying, 'We were just praying. We had some big bills this month and we ran out of money. We didn't have any milk for our baby. I was just praying and asking GOD to show me how to get some milk.' His wife in the kitchen yelled out, 'I ask him to send an Angel with some. Are you an Angel?’ The young man reached into his wallet and pulled out all the money he had on him and put in the man's hand. He turned and walked back toward his car and the tears were streaming down his face. He knew that GOD (SWT) still answers prayers..

Asalam-u-alaikum My dear Brother and Sisters,

If you’ve been following this blog from its very start, following how the progress is being made, finding and recognising those numerous enlightening messages that are hidden in almost every article yet written, than you'll probably be thinking by now that its just ‘perfect’, but than again another thought pops into your mind “How can it be perfect?, nothing is perfect!”. Well congratulations you’re correct, nothing in this world has ever achieved absolute perfection and nothing ever will. So Behold, Ladies and Gentlemen, let me introduce you to the first blemish that has managed to creep into and gain control over this dynamic blog and which will eventually lead to the rise of imperfections in it ---> ME!

The name’s Aasem. Umair Aasem that is. Yeah thats rite im not Abudi!. Ive been trying to avoid doing, what im about to do because as we all know Mr. Abd is one hell of a person! He’s more than capable of running this blog on his own, a true genius to be precise and MashAllah may Allah bless him, has the stamina and dedication to go all the way. To actually make a difference to the ‘World’ itself, by his work. His ability to motivate, prove his point and deliver the ‘Message’ is matchless. And so I really thought that he wouldn’t require any help and being a dweeb, that I am, I obviously wouldn’t be able to make his work any easier and would end up ‘hindering’ and disrupting his efforts in 'spreading the stir' as he likes to call it. But having had the great man, Mr Abd ofcourse, personally request me more than several times to contribute, I finally decided to go through with it. Afterall who wants to make Abudi angry and be in his bad books eh. Ok so cutting the story short this is, as I have made it more than obvious my first article! oh yes, my very first article that is going somewhere other than the hands of my English Teacher, to be marked.... So as you can imagine its a very momentous occassion for me! And so in coherent with the Muslim ways, I would like to start and dedicate this article to the greatness of Allah and what I like to call the 'True definition of Success'

“In the name of Allah, the most gracious, the most merciful”

My dear brothers and sisters, I just want you to ponder over the greatness of Allah Subhana Watallah for a few minutes, and think about all the limitless gifts He has bestowed upon you. Think about all the bounties you enjoy every day, without even realising that they are gifts. Think about how ungrateful we are, while how merciful our Lord is. Think about your mother, how much she loves you. Allah loves you 70 times more! My dear Muslims, Allah (swt) has blessed us with the most precious and beautiful thing of this universe! That is the wealth of the kalimah,

“LA ILAHA ILLALLA HO MOHAMMAD DUR RASULULLAH”

We all read this kalimah, and most of us are aware of its meanings, that there is no one worthy of worship except Allah, and Muhammad (SAW) is the messenger of Allah, but few of us are aware of its ‘purpose’ What is the purpose of the kalimah, my friends. Why does a 100 year old kafir, who has spent his whole life doing sins and commiting all sorts of evil, gets relieved of all of his sins and guarantees himself a place in jannah just by reciting this kalimah once, with sincerity and true faith? Yes my borthers, the kalimah has a much deeper meaning, a much deeper purpose. Its purpose is that within our hearts we should have this firm belief that Allah (swt) can do anything and everything that he wishes, He is the Lord of all the worlds, He is the Creator of all creations, He is The Sustainer, The Cherisher, The Most Merciful, The Most forgiving, He was, is, and will always be. He is Rab-ul-Alamin! Ask yourselves “Who is Allah?” Think about him. The Quran says in a verse that if all the seas and oceans were turned into ink, and all the trees were made into pens, and even then if a person would try to write down the attributes and qualities of Allah(swt), the pens and the oceans would dry up, but the greatness of Allah will never end!

Today we feel pride in what we are, what we have achieved. “We’ve even explored space!” man says to himself. Look up into the sky “O’ Man”, You may have the knowledge for a few million miles above the surface of the earth. Nice! But what happens beyond that? What exists beyond that? No one knows. We don’t even know whats in our galaxy, let alone the hundreds and thousands of other galaxies that Allah has created. We look down at the earth. The maximum we have been able to travel into the ground is approximately 7 miles. What happens beyond that? No one knows. Remember all those models we used to study in primary school about the Iron core, the hot mantle? Its all THEORETICAL BULL****! So we don’t know what’s beneath us and we haven’t got a clue what’s above us. Still, despite this limited knowledge, man today thinks he has advanced beyond limits, he has becomes wise. He has touched unimaginable heights with technology.

Hahahaha.. Oh Shut up! We are so weak, so feeble that we don’t even understand our own body! Today we know that the building block of matter is a ‘cell’. The human body is estimated to contain between 10-50 trillion cells. That’s rite, TRILLION, with a ‘t’. Even that is not sure and is still under debate as some scientists consider it to be near 100 trillion! Anyway the point is, each cell has a whole world inside it. Even if all the scientists of the world join, they cant even ‘create’ a single cell! A single cell! Ok you know what, forget the cell, we cant even create plama, nuclei or any of those small constituents of a cell. And look at the greatness of Allah(swt). 10-50 trillion cells in every person, more than 6.6 billion people in the world. And Allah is controlling and sustaining each and every single cell. And when one cell, that rite one tiny cell goes crazy and doesn’t act as it should, the disease that arises, which we are all familiar with is “cancer!” And we have to do so much work just to rectify that single cell!. And this is just Humans we are talking about, just think about the other creations of Allah, creations that havent even been discovered yet! Just admit it, we cannot even imagine, let alone comprehend the Greatness of Allah.

Look around You, look at the computers, the televisions, the mobile phones. Seeing these things, we all believe that there are radiations around us, waves that are transmitting information, ‘Recording’ information, Energies being converted to different forms and making life more comfortable for man! We believe that if U.S.A wishes, it can record each and every action and track a man, but still we don’t believe all our actions are being monitored by the King of all kings? We don’t believe we will be accountable in the court of “The All-Knowing” for what we do in secrecy and what we do openly!.

The signs of Allah are all around you. All we have to do is think for a while. Every second your heart is beating, air is going in and out, blood is flowing through your arteries and veins. What can you do if this stops? Look at the cycles around you. Look at the cycle of a plant. How it grows from a single seed. Allah Swt is controlling it. Allah is controlling everything. Not a single leaf moves without the permission of Allah. Allah’s system is the only system that is “perfect” to the minutest degree. One can go on and on, on the greatness of Allah. I didn’t want to make my first article very lengthy, so ill bring it to a close now. But i hope that the point that im trying to convey is properly understood. Recognise your creator, Submit to Him. Lets recognise our smallness and lets submit to His Greatness, lets accept that what we are today is because of Allah. And He, our creator is promising us that he has put eternal success of this world as well as the hereafter in the life of the kalimah! He has bought our souls for a place in Paradise! He has provided us our written manual in the form of the “Quran” and an example in the life of Muhammad (SAW). Lets make Dua that Allah helps you and me, to mould our lives and bring it in accordance with the life of The Deen!

My mom only had one eye. I hated her... She was such an embarrassment.She cooked for students & teachers to support the family.There was this one day during elementary school where my mom came to Say hello to me.I was so embarrassed.How could she do this to me?I ignored her, threw her a hateful look and ran out.The next day at school one of my classmates said, 'EEEE, your mom only Has one eye!'

I wanted to bury myself.I also wanted my mom to just disappear.I confronted her that day and said,... ' you're only gonna make me a Laughing stock, why don't you just die?'My mom did not respond...I didn't even stop to think for a second about what I had said, becauseI was full of anger.I was oblivious to her feelings.

I wanted out of that house, and have nothing to do with her.So I studied real hard , got a chance to go abroad to study.Then, I got married.I bought a house of my own.I had kids of my own.

I was happy with my life, my kids and the comforts, Then one day, my Mother came to visit me.She hadn't seen me in years and she didn't even meet her Grandchildren.When she stood by the door, my children laughed at her, and I yelled at Her for coming over uninvited.I screamed at her, 'How dare you come to my house and scare my Children!'GET OUT OF HERE! NOW!!!'And to this, my mother quietly answered, 'Oh, I'm so sorry. I may have Gotten the wrong address,'And she disappeared out of sight.

One day, a letter regarding a school reunion came to my house.So I lied to my wife that I was going on a business trip.After the reunion, I went to the old shack just out of curiosity.My neighbors said that she died.I did not shed a single tear.They handed me a letter that she had wanted me to have.

'My dearest son,I think of you all the time. I'm sorry that I came to your house andScared your children.I was so glad when I heard you were coming for the reunion.But I may not be able to even get out of bed to see you.I'm sorry that I was a constant embarrassment to you when you wereGrowing up.
You see........when you were very little, you got into an accident, andLost your eye.As a mother, I couldn't stand watching youHaving to grow up with one eye.So I gave you mine.I was so proud of my son who was seeing a whole new world for me, in myPlace, with that eye.With all my love to you, Your mother.'
